Word must have got out that Classic Soul Dogs are the best live entertainment available! Either that or the onset of snow means that people have had a lot more time for wedding and event planning recently - our enquires have shot up even more in the past few days! At present we're handling nearly 450 enquiries for 2009 and approximately 130 for 2010.

We're still very proud to be the most highly recommended entertainment on the scene and we would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who is passing on word of our great work, past clients and event planners included!

Classic Soul Dogs are in talks with a number of local venues at present to arrange a public, charity event in aid of Cancer Research. Classic Soul Dogs have supported this charity and their work since 2005 and we are looking forward to an opportunity to contribute further funds to such a great organsiation.

What we have found even more exciting is that nearly 50% of our enquiries are coming from past clients glowing recommendations . Classic Soul Dogs entertain at the first "Wales Charity Ball"!

Classic Soul Dogs are very proud to have been asked by Bovis Lend Lease and Red Dragon FM to entertain over 300 guests at Cardiff's Holland House Hotel this Saturday for the first ever "Wales Charity Ball"!

The Bovis Lend Lease St David's Project Team (the team leading the St David's 2 development in the centre of Cardiff), in conjunction with the South West Branch of the Guvnors Club organsied the first Wales Charity Ball this weekend with a view to raise in excess of 40,000GBP for the following charities:

"Action for a Child" (National Children's Home for Wales)
"Llamau" (Cyncoed Children's Hospice)
"Help a South Wales Child" (Red Dragon Radio's Charity)

After a very successful Charity Auction; Classic Soul Dogs took the stage. The band had been extended, by request, for this special event and featured a full percussion section plus the normal 8-piece soul band!

We had the room dancing from the very first number and kept them there all night! It's not surprising that we gave our whole allocation of business card's out that evening, and a few more!

The band played some of the most popular soul and disco tunes in a blazing 90 minute set, keeping the audience entertained right through to midnight! One more... OK, we finished off with Johnny B Goode - a reward to the audiences' unstoppable energy!

To Bovis Lend Lease, The Guvnors Club and Red Dragon FM - Thank you for inviting us to perform and thank you for your enthusiastic expressions of gratitude following the event. It's always appreciated. We look forward to entertaining your guests again in the future!

8 gigs, only 1 sunny day!

August is always a busy period for us and this year has been no exception, dispite the unreliable British weather!

Classic Soul Dogs squeezed 8 very successful gigs into August 2008 and entertained over 1000 people! It doesn't matter about the size of an event, Classic Soul Dogs will always provide the best in entertainment for you guests.

Here's some of the things we've seen and been a part of this year:

An Ice Cream Van instead of an evening buffet
A "dumb waiter" which we believed was going to be a lift
A restaurant turned into a party venue
A spectacular event in the grounds of the Celtic Manor
A Father/Daughter joint 50th and 21st Birthday Party
and many, many more...

Sorry it's taken so long but we've finally got around to re-vamping our 30+ archive pages to look like the new website!

The Classic Soul Dogs archive pages are where we used to report on one gig per month. Well, we want to start doing that again so it was about time to update the old ones!

WRAPIT GONE BUST!

Classic Soul Dogs have recieved news that the popular wedding present firm Wrapit says it is experiencing financial difficulties and is in talks with banks and advisers.

A BBC news story reads as follows:

"The company said that it was not in administration and is working to find a solution. It added:"We won't know the outcome until the end of next week."

Meanwhile, brides and grooms are worried they will not receive the gifts bought for them and that their guests will lose their money.

Customers can still reserve gifts but Wrapit is not taking payments.

"You can reserve a gift but the payments are on hold. We are not taking anyone's money," a spokeswoman told the BBC.

In an earlier message, Wrapit said HSBC was withholding £1m of its money. "
