Eight young musicians playing classic soul tracks to keep you dancing all night long. Classic Soul Dogs is an big 8-piece band with male and female vocals, guitar, keyboard, drums, bass, tenor/alto sax and trumpet.
We tailor our performance to suit your exact requirements. ANY type of event catered for - corporate, weddings, parties, festivals, clubs and pubs.

CLASSIC SOUL DOGS
HIGH HILLS, HIGH HEELS
JUNE 2004. There are certain stories that just have to be told even if it means breaking our usual 'rule' of reporting on just one gig each month for our archive. So this month, as well as a double Awesome Media Weekend report, enjoy the tale of St Dogs.
A typical June in Wales: continuous torrential rain, interspersed with ground baking sun, making the grassy slopes of a field in St Dogmaels, West Wales unsurmountable without the aid of a Land Rover. Weave a slate lined path across the side of the hill, lit by tiny fairy lanterns, to a massive marquee on the hilltop, overlooking the magnificent estuary, and you'll understand that this was going to be a magical evening.
The advance party, loaded with PA, instruments and lights made it within feet of the top (in heavy rain) before needing 4x4 help. The rest of the band slithered miserably around the bottom of the hill before loading everything into the 4x4 for the trip to the top.
The magic commenced as the guests arrived, tottering up the high hill in high heels and morning suits. As they breached the crest, the sun broke through, the tent sides slid away and the open air party commenced.
A couple of jazz sets before dinner and a couple of soul sets till midnight, interspersed with disco and fireworks, kept everyone entertained. The technical team and caterers were kept amused by the ploy of providing not-quite-enough-power-to-run-everything, although we only tripped the breakers once.
