Eight young musicians playing classic soul tracks to keep you dancing all night long. Classic Soul Dogs is an big 8-piece band with male and female vocals, guitar, keyboard, drums, bass, tenor/alto sax and trumpet.

JUNE 2004. An awesome weekend of Classic Soul Dogs in this monthly report - two gigs for the price of one. On Friday, a last minute call to play at an S4C charity dinner and auction; on Saturday Kristen and Huws' wedding reception with BBC TV connections at a top Cardiff hotel.
Channel 1, Friday: MacDonald Holland House Hotel, one of Cardiff's newest hotels, hosted an S4C television dinner and auction, raising over £6000 for Barnardo's Cymru. Classic Soul Dogs were booked at the last minute to entertain the hardiest guests - the ones with the energy to party an extra hour after the midnight hour.
Logistics were exciting for the band and the superb Piccadilly technical crew, with a predicted ten minute turnaround from conference set to musical stage before the party could get started. Straight in, no sound check, with dancers on the floor from the first number. It shows that Classic Soul Dogs can help in a tight situation.

Piccadilly Audio Visual provided added entertainment, making a group bid for '5 orgasms' in the charity auction (failed), paying homage to Soul Dog guitarist James Went, shadow dancing behind the main screen and as you can see still smiling after 18 hours on the job. Oh, they had nice lights for the band too.
Channel 2, Saturday: O what a night. With a welcome to Sian - three Soul Dog vocalists rather than the usual two - plus a superb blues harp player from the guests and several guest singers, including Kristen the bride, everyone enjoyed a a superb party.
